Thankfully the third day in Rotterdam was sunny, just very windy, which I can cope with.

We went to Historic Delfshaven in the morning. We bought some bread in a random cafe on the way for breakfast. I wanted to come to Historic Delfshaven for some photos only, there's not much in this area. We headed back to the city centre afterwards and I got ready for my solo adventure to Kinderdijk.

It's very easy and straightforward to get to Kinderdijk from Rotterdam. I took Waterbus 21 from Erasmus bridge and it took me around 30-45 minutes. It was a nice ride, the view on the way is nice.

Kinderdijk is UNESCO World Heritage. It is the largest windmills concentration in the Netherlands with 19 windmills in total. It is a good place to learn more about Dutch culture and knowledge of windmills but to be honest with you, I came here for some Instagramy photos. Some windmills are open to the public to visit, but I didn't go in any of them because the queue was just mad.

Here's the question: why is Kinderdijk called Kinderdijk (children's dyke)?

Well... I did some Googling. Some people said it's because it was built by kids (cruel); some said because a family nearby had many kids (cute); and some others said it's just because the dykes are shorter than others (not so cool).

But anyway, for me, Kinderdijk is a cute place suitable for a meander.

A windy day is acutally a great opportunity to see the windmills work. However, it was so difficult to take nice photos. All of my photos were with crazy hair in the air. I think Kinderdijk is suitable for couples to come and enjoy the view for an afternoon and take nice photos of each other.

Back to Rotterdam centre, I decided to check out Didi's stroopwaffle again. Guess what? It was still not opened. The mysterious opening time makes me wonder if I will ever get those stroopwafels successfully.

We had burgers at TER MARSCH for dinner that day. Just stunning. It was so delicious!

I was in Utrecht for work the next two days. When I came back to Rotterdam, we went to a Surinamese and Indonesian food restaurant. I couldn't remember anything about the food, but the bizarre vibe in the restaurant. It is a restaurant, but you need to fight for seats kind of like when you are at a food hall. As a Taiwanese, I am trained for this, I got us a seat soon with my hawk eyesight and jaguar speed.

The next morning we had brunch at Jordy's Bakery. Their croissant is very nice and crispy and they served good coffee as well. It was actually our last day in Rotterdam. I met a group of Taiwanese before leaving the hotel. They told me that they were here for a music festival. It was a pity that we were leaving already, or else I would quite like to go to their gig.

There was one miracle before we left Rotterdam! We got Didi's stroopwaffle! I was on my way to the train station and thought I should have a look before leaving. Surprisingly it was opened, so I quickly ran over and bought three packs of stroopwaffles. I had a slide on the train, and it was fine.
